it’s hard to say enough about David Harris’ imaginative set or the skilful use of graphics and videos (credit to video designer Gillian Tan)

The video projections (Gillian Tan) worked well, guiding the audience to where scenes were set or otherwise providing a suitable backdrop. - Chris Omaweng (crazychris.net)

A musical comedy weaving together two plots of the ‘real’ world of a writer trying to turn his book into a screenplay and the ‘reel’ world of the fictional film. The musical pays homage to the film noir genre of motion pictures that rose to prominence in the 1940s.

The video design was a mix of green screen, graphics and animation.

The design team worked together to discover a visual language between the real work, film noir world and flashback-within-the-film world.

Here are examples of the content that was produced for the show. The top left fight sequence was run together with the fight happening live on stage. The bottom right shot of Stine at the typewriter was eventually cut.
